Common questions

What does Experimental mean?

RIFT knows the game's controls and you can play it, but we haven't played it start to finish yet. It may miss a move, or tap a little off a button. You can move its buttons in RIFT's controls editor. Tested games were played start to finish and tuned by hand. Every game is marked on the games page.

My game isn't in RIFT.

The beta only plays the games on our games page, and each one has to be installed from the Play Store first. Want another one? Ask for it. The more people ask, the sooner it comes.

The game doesn't react when I move.
  • Check the game's own settings. Some need a control mode switched first: it's under Before you play on the games page.
  • Stand 2 to 3 metres from the phone, head and feet in the picture.
  • Light the room from the front, with no window or lamp behind you.
  • Calibrate again in RIFT, with moves as big as the ones you make in the game.
  • Controller phones: keep both phones on the same Wi-Fi.
Do I need a second phone?

Only for 3D Tennis (one) and Beat Swiper (two). Cricket, Fruit Ninja and golf can use one instead of your hand. What a controller phone needs.

How do I get the new version?

Join the beta again on the home page with the same email and we'll send you the latest download link. Install it over the old version. If Android won't install it, uninstall the old RIFT first, then install the new one (you'll need to calibrate again). What's new.

Does RIFT record me?

No. RIFT finds the points of your body in each camera frame, then throws the frame away. Nothing is recorded or uploaded. Privacy policy.

Which phones work?

Android 11 or newer with a fast enough chip. See what you need.

Thanks! It's with the team now.

Or email hello@tryrift.fun. Screen recordings help a lot.
